On August 6th a team from Sun Valley Animal Thrift Store delivered a $2,000 truckload of household merchandise to Victory Baptist Church in Buckeye.
This money was supplied by the Missions Committee of Grand Community Baptist Church of Surprise in partnership with Estrella Baptist Association.
The volunteer ladies of the thrift store had worked for weeks packing boxes of kitchen wares, small appliances, linens, animal toys and treats etc. Our truck had delivered 20 boxes to the church prior to the deliver on August 6th.
When the truck arrived on August 6th, Victory people had tables set up with the wares that had been delivered previously. There were three of us ladies from the mission committee there before the truck arrived to represent GCBC. Victory had a person checking in each person arriving to receive free merchandise so that they could follow-up and call on them. Their turnĀ out was quite good and steady. Once the truck was unloaded we visited a short time longer and left when the truck did. The truck delivered furniture, pictures, household, exercise equipment, etc.
I, Peggy, followed up by calling Pastor Ron Cross to check on how the distribution had gone. He was well pleased. When it was over there were just two end tables and desk. Repairman fixing the roof on Monday was happy to receive the desk. What was left of the few kitchen thinks were packed and were being picked up by the veterans. We feel that this was a very successful mission outreach that is continuing to bless to enrich God’s kingdom.
